Barry was born in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland where the great poet Robert Burns died over 200 years ago.  Robbie's death was about all that has ever happened there - so at 18, Barry escaped.

After studying his BSc and travelling through Europe and the US he found himself in Australia working as a Quantity Surveyor.

With the collapse of the construction industry and the subsequent IT boom, Barry moved into Project Management - studying the Masters degree at the University of NSW.

In 1998, an opportunity arose to study the MBA , majoring in Strategic Management - at Macquarie Graduate School of Management. With this came Barry’s final break with the construction industry.

Since then he has worked as a consultant on a variety of strategic management and performance projects: from hosting conferences; performance coaching; to leading bid teams in tendering major project joint ventures.

Barry has always believed that 'laughter is good for the soul' - so he took his first steps into standup comedy. For the past 15 years he has been writing, performing and producing comedy; whilst balancing this with corporate events, MC and facilitation work.

The combination of his corporate knowledge and his professional entertainment experience makes Barry the perfect host for your event. He will work with your brief and agenda, and tailor his performance to the theme.
